Irrelevancy of reveal of ending in a work of fiction.

The knowledge of the ending by audience before the start of a fiction does not affect the enjoyment as is evident by the immortal effectiveness of Greek tragedy. If a piece of fiction has nothing but "surprising ending", it has no value. Hitchcock said something about it (Hitchocck par François Trauffaut). It is either the unfolding of an interesting story or the accurate description of psychology that is compelling.
Spoorloos 1988 is greatly enjoyable even if the ending is known, because the middle part, esp. before the protagonist drinks coffe, that is great. YES! YES! YES!
