The screenplay is another disguised biography. It was saved by Altman and by acting by Elliot Gould and George Segal. Usual Altman acting, Altman camera position and camera movement, Altman sound, Altman editing. The ending makes sense to me, i.e. I think I understand it, "I suddenly got very tired", "There was no special feeling.". A great movie.
